Quixtar MLM Exposed

If it sounds too good to be true....Run! Work-at-home moms are now viewed as key targets for unscrupulous MLM companies because the prinicipals realize that many moms feel desperate to stay at home with their children.

Deceptive practices such as suggesting that moms will make large amounts of money by generating "passive income" in which money will flow to you based on the work done by your "downline" or those under you are common in MLM schemes. I was involved with one of these entities until I did my research and realized that there is no logical way that these companies are financially rewarding anyone except for a few select individuals at the top.

There are several websites dedicated to uncovering the fraud in MLM and I urge you to consult these before giving up any money for these opportunities.

Some basic tips on businesses to avoid:
-they tell you nothing about the opportunity or the products you will be selling in the ad. You are supposed to blindly call for more information. Legitimate opportunities want you to know about the product and the business so that you will not waste your time if you are not a good fit. In MLM, anyone breathing person is a potential opportunity.
-they stress the business and not the product
-they stress that there is no selling or parties involved (often that is because MLM's now do their dirty work over the Internet as the above article linked to in the title explains)
-they will want you to sign up for "auto shipments" of their products in order to sell the business to others
-the compensation system is so complicated that you will need a lawyer and accountant to figure it out
-if you appear disinterested or do not do well, you will be blamed for the failure. Not the product, not the system but you did not think positively enough, etc.

Moms, consider your strengths and weaknesses and your passion in life and let these drive you to the perfect home business for you and your family.

Book Review: Go It Alone- Do What You Do Best and Let Others Do the Rest

This very informative and inspirational book about solo entrepreneurs by Bruce Judson was a very easy read. It has a very interesting premise about the future of small businesses and his arguments were very persuasive.

Basically, because of leaps in technology, a one-man or one-woman operation can have the same global impact as a corporation with tens of thousands of employees. Instant websites, virtual assistants and web-based software all put business success at the average person's fingertips for very little up-front investment.

The only problem is, many entrepreneurs are either too proud to use these time and money-saving measures or they just lack the knowledge about them.

I have to say that I agree. In coming across many moms with home businesses and small businesses, we tend to spend a lot of time working in our business and not on our business or growing our business. We want to take on every responsibility, from webmaster to Search Engine Optimization expert to article-writer to researcher to customer service rep and packager.

I agree with the author that I am most efficient doing what I do best and leaving the other work to professionals (or easy to use software solutions) so that I maximize my time, energy and money.

Every work-at-home mom should buy this book.

Welcome and let's get started!

I am a work at home mom and I love it. I dreamed of this since my son was born 4 years ago. It has been a rough road and I am still learning but all who visit my blog will learn along with me.

Tip for today: Reduce strife in your house.

As you are trying to launch any new project or change any behavior, an enormous amount of energy, concentration and dedication are required. Harboring angry feelings, holding onto offenses or focusing on past wounds will hold us back. I learned to control my temper and irritability when things did not go my way with God's help.

I prayed that the Holy Spirit would reveal to me areas of my life in which I was letting anger and offenses settle into my heart and I asked for help in overcoming. I have specific prayers that I wrote and said daily (and I continue to say them). I realized that I was getting too angry with my husband too often and I needed to stop. My behavior was not helping anyone.

If your home is going to be your workplace, start at the beginning and do the spiritual work required to create a peaceful and productive family atmosphere. Pray daily that strife will be kept far from home and manage your emotions and your energy wisely.

Come back to this blog daily to learn more tips about working from home, growing as a Christian woman, raising a happy, peace-filled family, homeschooling, freelance writing, Christian life coaching, parent coaching, Christian music, blogging and Internet marketing.

I hope I can help.
